Welcome to my Lake Tahoe learn to Ski website.
I'm John Mukavitz and I'm a former ski resort staff trainer with 17 seasons teaching
experience.
I'm a Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) level 3
and United States Ski Coaches of America (USSCA) Nationally Certified
with numerous
national and international skiing competition titles. I hold a Bachelors
and Masters Degree
from Northern Michigan University, and I have posted a full 100 pages of
my learn to ski book and I have numerous articles and video ski lessons here for you get a head start
on your ski season.

- Overall Champion Silver Dollar Derby, Mt. Rose 2002
- Third Overall Season Points Far West Masters 2002
- Four-time employee ski racing champion Heavenly Ski Area 1994-98.
- 2000 U.S. Powder 8 West Coast Men's Champion,
- 13th at the World Syncro Championships, 1997.
- Overall Fasted Pro Title in the Lake Tahoe Town Professional
Race League in 1997-1998, 1999-2000 and 2000-2001,
- Masters World Championships 2001 13th in the criterion GS
I wrote a book on
the art of ski teaching, and you can read it here online, and
I have authored many articles and videos which are all available here as well.
