Welcome to my Lake Tahoe learn to Ski website.
I'm John Mukavitz and I provide full day private ski lessons for beginners thru experts.
I am a former ski resort staff trainer with 17 seasons teaching
experience.
I'm a Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) level 3
and United States Ski Coaches of America (USSCA) Nationally Certified
with numerous
national and international skiing competition titles. I hold a Bachelors
and Masters Degree in English
from Northern Michigan University, and I have taught academic courses as an adjunct
professor at the University of Nevada Reno, Truckee Meadows Community College,
and Sierra Nevada College. I have worked hard at my craft of teaching and skiing
and now offer the very best ski lessons to the very best clients. I have posted a full 100 pages of
my learn to ski book and I have numerous articles and video ski lessons here for you get a head start
on your ski season.

Race League in 1997-1998, 1999-2000 and 2000-2001,

I wrote a book on
the art of ski teaching, and you can read it here online, and
I have authored many articles and videos which are all available here as well.
Get a ski lesson when you're in Tahoe
Most resorts will charge over
$800 for a full day private family lesson, and chances are you will
get a newly trained ski teacher with minimal skills and no experience. Resorts
assign instructors on a first come first serve basis,
and because most experienced instructors are booked months in advance,
you get whomever is left. I charge a little more but you will receive
the best possible experience with accelerated results.
How it works:
Email me to start the planning at least 2 weeks prior.
Once payment is made and cleared, I calendar your day.
You read the content on this site to prepare.
The day of, I meet you at the lodge in the morning where we plan how you
want your lesson.
You can use the entire lesson on one person, or you
can split up the time among
everyone in your group. It's up to you. I carry a
lunch so I show up ready to teach
all day. I also carry a minidv videocam and I
will tape various parts of your
lesson for a dvd which I send later.
I teach full day on the WEEKENDS ONLY and some holidays with prepayment with check (must hold until cleared), cash or paypal, no half-days or discounts

or your entire group
Refund Policy: 7 days prior receives 100% refund
less the paypal fees if any, no refund 2 days or less.
Line cutting privledges require an extra fee, but you can decide that at
the time of the lesson.
